This post was very helpful. I live in a queen Ann victorian house and I love to decorate with artwork. I have spent a lot of time deciding just how i will frame a peice. I learned long ago not to buy anything I don't love for it's own sake, that way I will not tire of it. I own a wonderful oil of a man sitting in a train station mostly in blacks, silver and gold. He hangs in my hallway and every night I see this painting on my way to bed. The painting is framed in a beautiful gold and silver wood frame. It took a long time to get him there since the painting had to be restored before it could be framed. great article. thanks.
