Picasso family recovers stolen oil paintings

Last February, two Picasso paintings were stolen from the Paris home of Picasso’s own granddaughter.
The French paper, Le Figaro, reported that the culprits, were known to the police for previous art thefts, had stripped the paintings from their frames and rolled them up.
The paintings, “Maya a la poupee” (Maya with doll) from 1938 and “Portrait de femme, Jacqueline” from 1961, were stolen from the house of Diana Widmaier Picasso, while she and a friend were sleeping…
Picasso oil paintings are regarded as one of the most expensive and desired artifacts of modern 20th Century Art.
